Interests: Language teaching; Sixteenth century literature; Translation
Biography: I come from a background of teaching French in schools and free-lance translation, before returning to academia. I was awarded a PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2004; my thesis investigated the use of humour in the poetry of Clément Marot (1496-1544). I subsequently joined the staff of the French department in the University of Leeds. There are two strands to my teaching at Leeds: language tuition and translation studies; sixteenth century literature.
