This is a detailed part-by-part synopsis of what happens in Tennyson's long poem 'The Princess', keyed to line numbers in the standard text (ie most texts from 1853 on). I prepared this resource to support a shared reading aloud of the poem at Leeds Trinity in June 2014. It is designed to help readers check they have understood the details of the narrative, or (if they do not have time to read the whole poem) find out more about the context for shorter extracts.
Worksheet on Tennyson's poem, Maud, along with notes on poetic structure, and a sheet with "answers" to the worksheet.
