I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a PhD in Brazilian Studies, and am presently Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, with responsibilities for Portuguese Language, Language Awareness, Cultural Studies and courses involving the use of technology in pedagogical contexts, at undergraduate and Master's level.
My research interests encompass software politics in Brazil, and their role in national policy and development; digital inclusion and archive projects in Brazilian society; digital art and aesthetics; and some comparative studies of Brazilian literature, in particular women's writing. I also have an interest in language teaching with particular reference to students' creativity and agency, genre, and the use of multimedia digital applications.
