Using only two words, “hoog” and “diep”, Insingel manages to build a structure with several levels of parallels or mirror images. First, the poem can be split in half along an axis line from top to bottom, the left half being right side up, the right, upside down. These two halves are also split in half with parallels between “hoogst” and “diepst”, etc.
